“The Countenance of Fall”

The countenance of fall –
Autumn’s cold embrace,
Nature’s colors on display,
An exhibition of beauty
Before the coming grey,
A last glorious show
Before winter’s arrival
And stay for a season.

“We’re the Redeemed of the Lord”

Written by: Victor P.

“We’re the Redeemed of the Lord”

We’re not hitting the air with our fists,
We’re not living our lives for false hopes,
We’re not examples of deluded, gullible masses,
We’re not running in circles chasing illusions.

We’re the redeemed children of the Lord,
We’re more than conquerors through Christ,
We’re saved by grace through faith in Him
But we’re not perfect yet, we still sin and fall.

We still stumble, we fall on our faces like the rest
But we look to our heavenly Father for help,
To lift us up, to pull us out of pits we fall into,
To do all that we can’t, which happens to be much.

We’re called to take up our weapons mighty through God,
To pull down strongholds, cast down imaginations
And every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
To take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ!

It’s true that we sometimes forget
Our life here is brief, it’s very short,
Like a vapor, like a shadow, like a breath,
Like a flower, like grass, like a flash of lightning.

Our every breath and every heartbeat
Are given to us as a gift by our God,
He sustains us every single moment,
Even now we’re all in His loving hands.

We’re here to obey the will of God,
We’re here to do all for His glory,
We’re here to love, to give, to preach,
We’re here to live, to die, then go to God.

All good works God prepared for us to do –
He can give us strength to do it all;
We can rest assured our hope is real
And all of His promises are all true.

We are soldiers in the army of Christ,
We’re in it for life or not at all,
We’ll live and die fighting for the faith,
For the sake of Christ and His Gospel.

The war’s already won by Christ, it’s true,
But there are battles left to fight here;
Until our final days and last breaths
The battles of flesh against spirit will rage.

There is a daily fight against sin,
A daily struggle against temptation;
These daily battles we’ll win or lose
But may we always return to God!

May God open our hearts to receive His word,
And open our eyes to see His guiding light,
Keep our feet from slipping lest we fall to sin,
Keep our minds from idleness and wandering.

Though we may face doubts and uncertainty
We can be sure God remains the same forever;
Though we may face enemies without number
We will not perish hopeless, helpless, or unsaved.

We’ll face the storms, trials, hardships, pain and losses,
And God will be there with us in the midst of it all;
The Lord is faithful even to the least of us,
He is our joy, our hope, our song, our life!

“God’s Gospel is For All Sinners, For All of Us” Note by me.

“God’s Gospel is For All Sinners, For All of Us” Note by me.

Jesus Christ can set a person free in the most meaningful and true sense of the word.
He can free a sinner from the deserved punishment, from the penalty of committed sins, from the burden of guilt and shame, from condemnation and misery.
He can give rest to restless hearts, relief to troubled minds, comfort to the grieving, assurance to the doubting.
Yes, Christ can save sin’s slaves and make them His saints. He can redeem them. He can remake them. He can change them for the better, so they can become who they’re meant to be.

There is hope for fools and wretches.
There is hope for the hopeless, the condemned, the outcasts, addicts and criminals, degenerates and vile men and women.
Christ is the only hope for all these and all other people. The Gospel is the light of truth for all if us sinners, it’s the good news we all need and the message we’d be utter fools to reject, ignore, scoff at.

Today could be your last day alive and if you die unsaved, if you reject the Gospel, if you die without Christ, you won’t have anyone to blame but yourself.
God has made Christ the only Way to salvation, and peoples’ feelings and opinions against God’s way doesn’t change the reality that it is just as God says it is and other beliefs and ways won’t change it.

God calls all sinners daily to repent and believe, to come to Christ, to be saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. He calls men and women, children and the middle-aged and the elderly, no matter what their skin color is, no matter where they live or work, no matter how much wrong they’ve done, no matter what sins they’ve committed in public or in private. All sinners, all people, are called by God to repent, to confess their sins and ask for God’s forgiveness, to be saved by Christ, to be reconciled to God the Father through Christ the Son.

God’s Gospel is the best news sinners can get and are given, the light that shines in the dark world to sinners who all need a Savior to rescue, redeem, remake, restore, strengthen, sanctify them, give them a purpose and mission in life to glorify God and obey Christ’s commands and His Great Commission, to become who they were created by God to be.
Thank God for the Gospel. Thank God for Jesus Christ. Sinners can be saved, there’s hope and love and true life and purpose still. Come to God through Christ today. It’ll be too late when you die.

God loves you and He wants you to love Him as a child loves and obeys his parent.
He calls the rebels to surrender to His sovereign rule. He calls the unbelievers to open their hearts and minds and believe and receive His truth. God calls sinners to repentance, to true life, to salvation, to true purpose, to restoration and renovation and renewal.

Glory to God for His love and holiness, His grace and mercy, His wisdom and longsuffering, His Gospel and His Son Jesus Christ!

1 John 3:2
“Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we will be: but we know that, when He will appear, we will be like Him; for we will see Him as He is.”

In Christ, thanks to His death and resurrection, we are accepted by and belong to God, and it doesn’t cost us who we’re truly called to be; it makes it not just possible and probable but certain that we will become who we’re truly called to be by our Creator and heavenly Father.
God is working in and on us from the moment of our spiritual birth, making us like Christ, which is His goal and our joy, because even as we are becoming more like Christ, we are not losing that part of us that makes us, well, us, because God wants sons and daughters, not clones and robots. God’s not trying to destroy our uniqueness, He wants it to be seen in Christ, for it to shine and grow and thrive in Him.
It may be hard to grasp but what He said in His Word is what He wills, desires, is doing, is working, is making, is perfecting, and He never drops or leaves unfinished what He has begun, especially when it concerns those whom He created in His image, fearfully and wonderfully made for His glory, to do good works which He prepared for us in Christ to do.

It’s said of Christians that “We are becoming what we already are.” We’re in Christ and we’re becoming like Christ, not in some New Age jargon sense, but in the only meaningful sense, in the way the Bible says. We are all unique members of the Body of Christ. Not one of us is put here to do the same thing in the same way as a brother or sister in Christ.
God has given us value, worth, significance, identity, purpose, reason, meaning, joy, dignity, not because we’re perfect or such awesome people but because He loves us, chose to love us, accepted us in Christ, made us for Himself, for His glory, so we’d live and love and thrive here and glorify and enjoy Him now and forever.
We’re here to preach the Gospel to the spiritually dead, to share our hope in Christ with others, to point them to Christ who is the Way and Truth and Life, Who’s the only way to the Father, Who’s the only one through whom we can be reconciled to God, saved from the coming wrath we deserve for all our sins, our disobedience and unbelief.
Thanks and glory be to God for His amazing grace, for Christ His Son, for God’s great love for us that nothing can separate us from. Glory to our amazing God, now and forever!

–Originally a comment, shared here for others to read and hopefully benefit from–

However God measures or judges, it’s always done perfectly and it’s always done right because He’s perfect.
This fact and truth can be hard for us to truly believe and grasp because we’re not perfect and we can’t imagine what a perfect being (God) is and how they think and act and how this Being can be sinless and never make mistakes in thoughts or plans and actions.

The closest acquaintance and sufficient image, a real being picture, of God’s perfection that we humans can get while we’re in these present bodies and we have all our imperfections, is Jesus Christ. He’s the image of the invisible God; He’s the clearest revelation of God to people that there is.

In Christ we get the best picture of God’s nature, no longer seeing Him as through glass but as clear as God saw fit to reveal Himself to us imperfect people whose reason and understanding isn’t perfect no matter how intelligent or devoted or zealous we are for God and knowing and loving Him.
This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to know God more and more because we’re imperfect and our knowledge of God will never be full or complete while we live, while we’re in these present bodies. It means the opposite of that: it means that because of our imperfections, flaws, lacks, we must pursue the knowledge and the love of God all the more because it’s so vital, we all need it, we’re all called and invited to get the know more and more about God but also to know God more and more and to keep doing this continually until the day we die. Although we won’t reach here that goal of knowing and loving God completely, we’re encouraged, called, and instructed, to pursue obtaining as much of the knowledge of God but never at the expense of obeying God and loving.
We don’t really know God if we’re intentionally slacking in our pursuit of obeying and loving God. If we’re making excuses to keep from pursuing gaining more knowledge of God, we’re being disobedient to God’s call in Christ to do that.

We must all strive to grow our desire for the knowledge of God and just as or more important, to grow in our love for and obedience to God.
Never stop learning more and more about God. Never stop in your growth in love and obedience to God.
