“The Man Without”

“The Man Without”

This house is standing
But my home is gone.
Oh, my feet are warm
But the floors are cold.

I’m standing still here
But my heart is sinking,
This emptiness suffocates,
This loneliness consumes.

Is it your whispering I hear
Or just a memory of you
Replaying in my mind,
Playing tricks on me again?

How long have you been gone?
I’ve lost track of new days.
I’m withering without you here
By my side, in my arms, love.

The smiles have fled, I am spent
Waiting, worrying, praying, hoping.
My happiness now only in memory.
Are you too dear for me to bear losing?

Poets have written better lines,
Lovers have shed greater tears,
Singers have sung sweeter songs.
Can aught of mine compare to theirs?

To whom or to what did I lose you?
How did this all happen and come about?
Am I at a loss to remember
Or just very quick to forget?

Am I forsaken here without reason
Or rightly left, punished for my wrongs?
None of this makes sense to me.
Is this just bad luck or my destiny?

Every time I hear your voice
I look around but see nothing.
You haunt me; are you dead now?
Or is this all just in my head?

I sit alone now with the lights off
Where we used to sit together.
I sit in silence where we used to laugh,
I sleep alone where we used to sleep together.

I can’t live on memories,
I can’t feed on reveries,
And I can’t live in the past
Or go back even for a moment.

How can I soundly sleep?
You still haunt my dreams,
You still fill my thoughts.
Will this be too much for me?

God knows I’m withering
And this is all my misery.
I just want you here again,
I’m not used to being so alone.

“Against the Damned”

“Against the Damned”

You wanted to have me whole,
You’ve failed in your quest.
You’ve wanted to destroy me
But I’m a child of God now.

All I can say to you now is:
God damn you,
I won’t be yours,
You’ve already lost the war.

God help me fight
Against you and your lies
Until the day I die,
You won’t ruin me.

You’ve tried so hard
To bring me down
But I am in Christ
His is the victory.

So go on and rage,
Curse and blaspheme,
Devil, you’re damned
Now and forevermore!

You hid your lies
In many half-truths,
You’ve twisted the words
And distorted the meaning.

I walked in such darkness
When I was in your kingdom
But now I walk in God’s light,
Now I hate you and your lies!

Vile fiend, you’ve ruined so many,
Twisted the truth to fit your ends,
So many blind and confused now
Are a testimony to your evil ways.

You have your minions here
Doing your damnable bidding;
It won’t go unopposed, fool,
We won’t tolerate your sick works.

You want to see the end of us all
But you know the saved are free
From your destructive lies and ends,
They’re out of your kingdom of darkness.

“God’s Truth Against Human Foolishness” Note by me.

Since it’s April Fools’ Day.

“God’s Truth Against Human Foolishness” Note by me.

It is the height of foolishness to reject God, to reject His call to repentance, to reject His way of salvation by His grace through faith in Christ.
Those who live like God’s dead are the ones blind to a fact undeniable and quite consequential, affecting their eternal destiny.
Those who pretend God doesn’t even exist are in for a real shock when they die, they’ll be judged by the God they didn’t want to believe in, the perfect and holy living and true God.
It’ll be too late to repent on judgment day: they had a whole life to believe and come to repentance and surrender to God against whom all sin and rebel from their first days.
A fool scoffs at God’s truth now but will regret it later. The rebellious fools fight against God hoping to maintain autonomy, as if the mortal can prevail against the immortal, as if the creature can overcome the Creator.
God calls all to repentance, to true life, to love and obey Him, to live as He intended us to live, to come to salvation through Christ.
It’s a terrible waste of a life to live without God, to pretend He’s dead, to mock all that has to do with God, to persist in sinful rebellion against the living and true God. The only end of such a foolish life is to be judged by a holy God and be condemned justly to Hell for eternity.
People can only go to Heaven or Hell when they die: there’s no nirvana, there’s no purgatory, there’s no void, there’s no annihilation, no other places or states of being.
God has told us the truth and if we don’t obey it and believe it, we only fool ourselves and gain nothing.
God wants what’s best for us, for our souls, and He has already done and provided everything we need to believe and be saved, to know and love Him.
If we reject all God has said and done and keep living like we can save ourselves, then we’re condemning ourselves because we’re not trusting in Christ’s death to be enough to save us or reconcile us to God whose enemy we’ve been since we were born. Thus, we’d refuse eternal life with God and accept an eternal existence in Hell.
Such foolishness doesn’t have to be our course, our end, our destiny. God offers us His way, His love and salvation, eternal life, Himself, if we will trust and obey, take Him at His word, believe on and in Christ as Lord and Savior, as the Lamb if God who takes away sins, as the Way and the Truth and the Life, the only way to God, the only way we can be saved.
So then, we can trust in the Lord and believe in His Word, believe and accept His Gospel as truth and come to Christ to be washed clean by His Blood, forgiven, saved, made new, receive eternal life; or continue living like God’s dead or irrelevant or doesn’t exist, or some other lie Satan has told people over the many years.
We’re all accountable to God now for how we live and think and act and love; there’s no one who’s excused from this duty, this responsibility. Pretending God doesn’t exist doesn’t change at all the reality that He does exist and He will judge all as He said He will. One life to live here is too short to waste believing the lie that there’s no God.
Don’t waste it all on a fool’s hope of nothing after death because God said only Heaven or Hell await us when we die. It’s terribly foolish to choose to be wrong for eternity, to choose to believe a lie when the truth was spoken to you often enough.
You’ll have only yourself to blame if you die today and be sent to Hell.
If you reject God’s Gospel now, you’ve chosen eternal Hell, you’ve chosen the losing side, you’ve chosen the fool’s side. When you die, you can’t say you weren’t told of the deserved horrors of Hell awaiting all the faithless, Godless, foolish, who reject God and His way and truth, you had a lifetime to read His Word, the Bible, and believe His truth.

Today, your eternal destiny can change for the best.
Today you can come to God through Christ the Savior, be saved, forgiven, redeemed, renewed, remade, given what you need most.
Today is the day of salvation; tomorrow you might die. Are you saved?
Today God calls you to repentance, to surrender, to new life in Christ; tomorrow you may already be standing condemned at God’s throne if you’re not saved.
Today is what you’re given and tomorrow isn’t guaranteed so choose to believe or reject God, there’s no neutral position, no third option.
Christ can save you now, believe it, come and take God at His word; don’t throw away everything for lies and hopeless world’s offers. Only Christ can save you, what are you waiting for? Come and believe, trust and obey, be forgiven, remade, made a child of God in Christ, be given eternal life. Come now, tomorrow you may already be dead; where do you want to be for eternity?
Count the cost of believing God’s Gospel, see that the eternal gain is ever greater than any earthly loss or pain. To gain Christ is the greatest gain of all.
This isn’t fiction, this isn’t nonsense, these are words of truth taken from God’s Word of life.

Psalm 14:1b “… The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.'”
Psalm 53:1 “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.'”

Romans 1:20-25
“20) For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22)  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

“The Old in the New”

“The Old in the New”

We bring the old into the new,
It is another year but we remain the same;
Changes with the new are in few,
Another fear to fight, new deeds of shame.

Changes are not easy to make;
Trying has a chance of failure.
How much more can we take?
O, what is for our ills the cure?

Our resolutions aren’t promises
But hollow inside and superficial outside,
And giving in to compromises
Is a step from the right to the wrong side.

Make no mention
Of your intention
Of habit’s retention;
You want attention.

Deprivation and waste,
Elimination and haste,
Repentance and relapse,
Hypocrisy and collapse.

Repeating the same mistakes,
Repeating the same old sins,
Sitting on the same old pins
And playing the same fakes.

We’ll point our fingers at anyone
As long as it’s not at ourselves;
But we must when we are won
Go take mirrors off the shelves.

We severed ties we’ve long had
And broke the bonds of love.
What’s it brought us is very sad;
None would envy it to have.

We say as we look back on our past
‘We did not know what wouldn’t last’
But maybe we just didn’t care enough to find out
And now we fear the future, are full of new doubt.

We burn the days if we tread carelessly
And we’ll believe that we are helplessly
Left on our own, left to fight, left to die,
But that is not true, it is false, it is a lie!

What’s it brought us, all our trying?
More failures, and tears for drying?
Experience can be a cruel teacher
And foolishness is a great reacher.

If life is hard and thus must be
Then is there a light we can see
To show the way that we all should go?
Answers to life’s questions can we know?

We are like a broken record
Playing the same old song;
O, but can any of us afford
To keep this all up for long?

Are we chasing dreams
That quickly fade away?
O, whose heart screams
That there’s another way?

What’s it all for if all goes to nothing?
Can we win, gain or receive anything?
There must be more and there must be something
More than all there is, more than our everything!

Is the darkness surrounding us all we’ll see?
Shall the light come or are we all left to be
Casualties who fought a futile war?
Is this what our life was made for?

Are we to look to the future with hope and expectation?
With fear and doubt? With excitement and determination?
What’s done is done and what’s gone is gone
But there’s still much that can be by us won!

Look back and reflect, see this life’s not for us to waste;
Look forward and sift through the past and come taste
The harvest of the present and sow the seeds for the future
You wish to see and wait, tend, care, a future harvest is sure.
