“What Can Become an Idol” Note by me.

Pretty much anyone or anything can become an idol.
Anything that is made a higher priority than God is an idol. Anything we give more time to than God is an idol. Anything we love more than God is an idol.
Anything we devote our best strength and efforts to is an idol. Adding ‘anyone’ to mentioned ‘anything’ makes the list of possible idols much longer. Idolatry not
dealt with correctly and quickly can soon become the ruination of the idolater. If we don’t expose in ourselves all those things which are becoming idols, we do it to
our own ill.
We must let God’s penetrating light expose all the evil and idolatrous things in the darkest corners of our heart, mind, and soul, and ask Him to purge it out, remove it, cleanse us by Christ’s Blood and be made clean, renewed by the only One who can save us from idols, false gods, our sins, and ourselves, that is, God alone can do
This goes for every Christian, young and old, for all who are still in the flesh will face temptations and trials and must fight the enemy’s lies and deceptions.
Until we die we all must fight all that is not of God, all that is sinful, wrong, deceptive, all that an become a trap, a snare, an idol, a time-wasting activity, and a multitude of other things. We’re soldiers of Christ, after all, not trophies in a display case or children on a playground; we’re the redeemed of the Lord on the
battleground until life here ends; until then we must not take off the armor of God or lay down our weapons of our spiritual warfare.
