“A Rain Poem”

See the millions of drops of water falling quickly to the ground,
Liquid’s futile collision against many earthly constructs sound.
A cloud-filled night sky and wind replace the calm of days before,
Nature’s move, commence with downpour to feed earth once more.
This liquid can nourish the soil but also flood a village in a little time,
A blessing and a curse, in the mind of some ’tis deemed not sublime.

Unto the lifeless liquid blood of many a cloud
These words are said to state thoughts aloud.
Feed the earth and inspire many, but also leave others feeling down,
Fill with desire to dance in your midst, kiss flesh, be a tree’s gown,
Some wish for your prolonged stay, others your quick departure,
But this they agree on, not to have the arrival of the sun scorcher.
Rain, liquid of benefit but also able to destroy centuries of livelihood,
Welcomed and hated, as we are you are too at times, bad and good.
