“A Mention: The Savior’s Day”
Nearing the day of remembrance,
A birth with none its equal,
An event never to taste obscurity,
As long as life is yet in the veins
And in the bones of young and old
And while the sun and moon conform
To routine, order, cycles set,
The birth of Christ will be always like new,
A fresh reminder to the living
That it heralded the greatest days
That lay ahead for a corrupted race.
The evidence of true revelation,
The fulfillment of prophecies of old,
The reality and blessed mention
Of the event that changed the world,
The day when God became a man
And dwelt among His own creation
To live sinless, to fulfil the law, to live loving,
To give, forgive, bless and preach
The coming of the Kingdom of God
On earth cursed, where men in sins drown,
Here He came to save that which was lost,
He came to give what only He can – salvation,
Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Man, the Son of God,
He who was without sin, blameless, the Lamb of God,
Born, lived, was crucified, and was by God raised on the third day,
Overcame death, He now sits at the right hand of God
And He will come again to earth as He promised
To take the true believers, His sheep, His Church, His Bride
With Him to Heaven, and many more things will occur
Before this world reaches its end, burned, to be replaced
With a new heaven and a new earth
Where we shall be forever with the Lord.
So remember the day when the Savior was born
And remember the blessings the Lord has given,
Live and love, repent and be forgiven,
For the day of Christ’s return draws nearer
With each passing day, with each new sign of the times
Wait and pray lest you fall in temptation, be awake,
The Lord will come in a day when we don’t expect
So be ready for the Master to return at any time,
Don’t doubt His promises, His words will come to pass,
Because what He said is how it shall be.
The day of His birth, remember and celebrate it
For it is a prophecy fulfilled, God’s promise kept,
And remember His life, that sinless, exemplary life,
Follow His footsteps and follow Him faithfully,
In the world you’ll have tribulation but fear not,
Because He overcame the world, He is your peace.
Remember His death, by it, by His blood, you’re redeemed,
Yes, by grace through faith in Christ alone you’re saved
From sins, from hell, your shame and stains washed away.
Remember His resurrection, in it is power and truth
Of the deity and divinity of Christ the Son of God,
And a truth the world cannot silence nor hide
Under centuries of so-called progress and existence
The world has not yet known a greater miracle,
A greater act of God than the resurrection of Christ,
A testimony of His being one with God the Father
And one with God the Holy Spirit, the Triune God.
The many prophecies He has fulfilled, the things He did,
The things He said and taught and showed are evidence
That He is God and there is none like Him in all the earth,
None can compare, none are His equal, He is the great I AM.
This Christmas, thank the Lord that He has come in flesh to save
Mankind that fell and went astray, that God has offered salvation
To all who believe and call upon the name of the Lord,
By faith and not by works, yet faith without works is dead,
And works without faith are dead and unprofitable,
So know, the Lord calls, knocks at the door of every heart,
And is waiting to receive all who come to Him, He’ll reject none,
He wills that all will come to repentance and believe in His Son,
He is loving and just, merciful and holy, righteous and mighty.
Remember all that the Lord has done for you, for those you know,
And thank the Lord that He is who He says He is, who changes not,
And say in heart, in soul, in word, in song, blessed be the name of the Lord,
Praise be to God Almighty, peace upon His children, and His will come to pass.
