“Autumn, Beckon Winter”

“Autumn, Beckon Winter”

O autumn, season called fall, I see you have come.
Reminding us of times when we did not overcome
Because we have chosen to trust only ourselves
Instead of putting our trust in God above selves.

The pain of failures brings
The guilt, it sharply stings
Our broken and yet hard hearts
But we still trust our failed parts.
If we’ll drown our conscience, tell,
Our nation, as if under some spell,
Time shows that many chose hell.
Fall, beckon winter to come faster,
Cast down leaves from trees with gusts.
Come, cold, cloudy days, welcome winter,
Much cold air to match cold hearts of sinners
Indulging in their wrongs, taking pride in their ways,
Believing not that the end of their ways is death.

Snow and cold winds, fill the land from end to end.
Surround us as predators surround prey,
We will wish we didn’t choose to stray,
And those who have hope will pray
For deliverance and forgivess each day,
Until the Lord will hear us sincerely say
‘We have sinned against You, went astray,
We will return to Your way, the true way.’
